Williams Comfort Products
In 1916, Jesse Williams was manufacturing gas steam radiators in the Los Angeles area under the banner of Williams Radiator Company. An early commitment to product sophistication played an integral role in the company's growth. By the early 1930's, Williams' gas-fired space heating had become a product line reality. Following World War II, progress dictated the introduction of a gravity wall furnace. Soon thereafter, Counterflow, fan-type wall furnaces arrived resulting in a supply/demand ration of national scope. By 1954, coast-to-coast distribution networking was in place and sales had dramatically expanded outside the State of California.
This ultimately led to the firm's acquisition by the Continental Materials Corporation in 1958. The AMEX-listed parent company subsequently increased product line visibility by renaming the company the Williams Furnace Company in 1959. Thus, the nation's leading manufacturer of gas-fired wall furnaces and related comfort products was well on its way toward making a substantial impact on the country's desire for comfortable living.
In addition, Williams' 1986 acquisition of Hydro-Aire/Lanco further diversified the company's manufactured products to include a comprehensive line of high quality fan coils and air handlers. Today, automated numerically controlled machinery with rigid control processes are used to assure precision and product quality. Combined with an extensive R & D effort, the engineering on these products is complemented via thorough testing in psychometric environmental chambers with instrumentation accuracy traceable to the National Bureau of Standards.
The Little Red Schoolhouse Training Program was introduced in the early 1990's as a continuing endeavor to service the industry. Comprehensive learning seminars are held at the company's headquarters in Colton, CA. The product line is technically presented by staff, along with a tour of our plant and facilities and discussion of Williams' product and manufacturing advantages.
In 1996, Williams' entered the Vent-Free and Hearth products marketplace, while also adding a line of evaporative coolers. Williams is a total source of quality heating and cooling products which includes top-vent and direct-vent home furnaces, fireplaces, through-the-window gas heaters, gas logs, vent-free space heaters, garage heaters, hearth heaters/consoles, floor furnaces, mobile home heaters, air handlers and fan coils.
Today, the company's 400,000 square foot Colton, California manufacturing complex features state-of-the-art material handling, production systems, storage, and shipping/receiving facilities. Therefore, as the company embarks upon the arrival of its ninth decade, the Williams Furnace Company renews its ongoing commitment to quality manufactured products. Williams proven history of integrity, reliability, and performance is your guarantee of quality, leading-edge products and customer service.
