COLTON, CA – April 21, 2008 – CWP Global, the newly formed HVAC business unit of Continental Materials Corporation, has announced price increases of up to 7% for Williams Furnace Company’s Applied Products line of fan coils, blower coils and small air handlers. The increases were effective April 15, 2008. CWP reported the price increases were in response to escalating materials costs of sheet steel, copper and various components. While there was no connection to any increased transportation costs at this time, the company said it would continue to monitor the situation. “Given the recent increases in basic materials costs and in looking at forecasts for further increases, we believe it is prudent to start passing these costs along to the market”, Warren Shoulders, president of Williams stated. “We are committed to managing all costs and to continue to provide the best value in the industry through manufacturing efficiency and good product design.” Continental Materials Corporation (AMEX:CUO) is a diversified manufacturer of general building materials for the construction industry and heating, ventilation and air conditioning products for both commercial and residential application.
